Resource/Environmental Mapping
Natural resource or community mapping is an important
component of project design, site planning, and resource
management. Resource base maps provide the foundation
for future monitoring in addition to establishing a comprehensive
inventory of the project site's natural resources and
the accurate determination of spatial and temporal changes
to those resources.
Coastal Systems International, Inc.
approach to performing seagrass and benthic community
assessments includes:
- Aerial Photo Interpretation,
Digitizing, and Ground-
truthing to Delineate Community Coverage.
- Qualitative and Quantitative
Biological Assessments of the Health and Composition
of the Ecosystems.
- Identification of Potential
Impacts to these Communities as a result of
Nourishment and other related Coastal Construction
Projects.
- Development and Implementation
of Mitigation and
Biological Monitoring programs to determine
long-term changes related to Coastal Construction.
